Lasonic 935 / 951 / 975 EQ sliders not the same. Pics inside

Ok, we all know that the 935 sliders light up and are definetly not a match to the 951/975 sliders...... Well the 951/975 sliders look identical (from a distance) besides the colors.....


Way off . Trying to get my 951 in tip top shape I realized that the 951's black sliders are bigger than the 975 and the tab that it mounts to is a different size too .


This post is to just let everyone know that 935/951/975 EQ slider caps are not the same.

Man, great pic's.....

Why would they do this.....just from a manufacturing stand point this is a money loser.

General Motors has been making the same "Cruise Control" switch for over 20 years.....buy in volume! (damn, I wish I had that contract!)

I agree about buying in bulk. I would have bet $$$$ that the 951 & the 975 EQ sliders were the same up until last night when I was retrofitting my 975 slider on my 951 .


So I have to accept that my 951 may NEVER be 100% complete knowing that I need an exact EQ slider for it . Eh, I'm over it

I'm rooting for you Chris that you find one.


I will actually mod mine a little - the 4 removable chrome tweeter covers I am going to take out and set aside. Max is sending me replacements that have all the chrome coming off. I will paint those satin black and add a goldish/tan color to the "HIGH FIDELITY" section of the top tweeter covers.

The chrome is just out of place considering that the rest of the box is black, red, and gold . Should look good.

Like I said in another thread, I know of mine, Johnny's, I saw one on ebay pretty beat up a couple years ago, and there is a guy on youtube with one. That's it.

Those 951 sliders actually look like the best quality out the 3. You should possibly look at some vintage graphic equalizers, as many of them also have removable sliders and maybe one would match. I myself am looking for ONE clear 935 slider.

You are correct, the 951 EQ slider is the best one out of the 3. I never thought to look on other vintage electronics. There are tons of component EQs out there that probably have even nicer ones that I can paint / install . Thanks for the tip.
