Some members are talking about going. Fresh Produce, Mac Daddy Freshness. I'm not sure if I can get out there, but I will post here if I go.
These are tons of fun, bring your biggest radio and let the volume sore.
From the Beat Swap Website:
http://beatswapmeet.com/uncategorized/beat-swap-presents-no-corporate-christmas/
"Hey friends and family be sure to join us this Sunday Dec 14th for NO CORPORATE CHRISTMAS.
We will be at a new location called the Container Yard in Little Tokyo and we think you will like it.
Entrance is FREE with a canned good and $5 without."

I'll be there. Im takin the wifey and Lil SLO Jr. Looking forward to it, Not sure which boombox Im gonna take yet though, Im thinking either my Lasonic Mishka Monster with the custom colored blu fuz strap, my JVC DC33 turntable box, or my trusty TRC-931. The Container Yard looks DOPE with all the graffiti everywhere. Should be a blast and A LOT cooler than the last one during the summer heatwave, we just about melted :'-(

Yeah, it will be nice without the 107 degree heat!

What radio to bring.....

Do I just go with the J1, simply because it's HUGE! (I have my Helix HX-4700 all torn down)

Do I bring the Eddie Van Halen M70? It's not really a "Rocker" event

Maybe a sensibly sized radio like the Lasonic TRC-922?

Hahaa, decisions decisions. Can't go wrong with any of those choices...

J1, just a badass looking box all around.

Van Halen M70, would look cool as hell with all the graffiti on the walls at the Container Yard.

TRC-922, Easy on the back and arms but still a punchy lil box

Tough decision bro!

I wanna go so bad to this event. This is the kind of culture that I crave and is impossible to find here in the OC.

But, I have a family reunion that I am hosting at my house this Sunday.

Damn I really want to go. How often are these events held?

As for what box you should take? I say take the biggest beast you have!

The last one in Chinatown L.A. was during the hottest dam day of the summer this year! And I mean HOT! Not sure if they come around on a set schedule but it will come along again. I follow beatswapmeet on Instagram to stay up to date. If I remember correctly they had one in November in the O.C. but I didnt make that one. Its a really cool event to check out

This happens a few times a year. No worries Howie, we will Rock another soon enough. PLUS, I was talking with member FRESH PRODUCE and we are going to tr to put together another Boombox Meet. This is where a bunch of members get together, bring a ton of radio's to one location and do some blasting, sharing, repairs, trading, selling. All kinds of boombox fun!

So enjoy your time with the family, there will be plenty do do in the future. :-D

Yeah, we won;t have to deal with the heat this time around, very glad of that!

OK, I have made my radio selection :-D I will be down there around noon or so. I just have to pick up some fresh D's. The radio I am brining is a full speaker travel battery eating BEAST!

REMINDER, BRING A CAN OF FOOD TO GET IN FOR FREE! OTHERWISE IT WILL BE $5.00.

I wish my whole family would be up for going to an event like this. But street culture isn't for everyone and I actually like it that that. 😎

I'm glad to know there will be more events like this to go to. A box meet sounds cool. I was just really hoping I could take my son to tomorrow's event. I think he would really fit in. Don't you?😉

Thanks man. Seems like we are cut from the same cloth! Here in the OC its a struggle to find like minded people as me. When I invite them out to LA they say, "Oh no, I hate LA. All that traffic... No thanks!" I guess that's why I crave going out there so much. It literally finds my soul.

How old is your kid? In that picture my son was a little over a year. Now he's almost 3 1/2. I just bought him a new Adidas Track Suit. Still gotta get him a new kangol.

And make sure you guys take lots of pictures and videos if possible. I want to live vicariously through you.

Yea bro your like a brother from another mother Lol, I ain't gonna lie, I hate L.A. traffic too, BUT I'll deal with it for a fun time anyday!

My Lil SLO is 1 year and 9 months old. And he LOVES music and pushing buttons on my boomboxes. Your boys Kangol is DOPE! I gotta get my boy one of those.

And oh Yea we'll be taking plenty of pictures bro, my wifey doesn't know it yet but she's the designated photographer Lol, she won't mind though, be sure to bust out your newly aquired blaster at the family reunion and show us some pics of the backyard boogie! ;-)

It's funn that you say this. I broke out my boombox this past Thanksgiving and it was the life of the party. Not only did the family start dancing, but I plugged in a mic and they started karaoking. One of my uncles starting channeling Mick Jagger when they started playing Rolling Stones songs. It was classic!
