Hey All,

A few months ago I bought a JVC / Victor Reproduction Shoulder Strap for my Victor RC-838 off of our good member Blu_Fuz. I wanted to make a quick video and show some pictures of how well these work.

Quality:
The materials are exactly what you would want. Steel buckles, steel length adjuster. Heavy duty nylon strap. The end buckles clip in SOLID as a ROCK. There is no chance of these coming undone. There is no play in the locking system. They hold the radio with confidence. After all, the last thing you would want is for your 838, M70 or M90 to hit the pavement. :'-(
There is no chance of this if your radio's clips are in good condition.

I ordered mine and had them QUICK! I don't remember what I paid, it was really reasonable (I'm a bit of a tight a@@, so if I bought them, them must have been cheap!) PM Blu_Fuz for details

JVC heads....this is a must have!

Here is a quick video showing how they work....

I added a shoulder pad from another strap I had....works great (the 838 is a PIG! 19lbs with batteries)

Great vid Chris and I love how those things "CLIP" into the JVC boxes. I literally twirrled my Victor M&) in circles by the strap I made to be confident to pass these on to you guys knowing that no ones box will hit the ground with these.

To those who asked, yes I did make the wider 1.5" strap, buckles, and clip ends but only very few. It was a special order for a special member and I cut a couple extra for spares ;-) .

Thanks for the review, love you guys, enjoy the straps! (limited edition 838 green strap hardware is  ) Raw metal finish is actually Zinc Plating  .

These things clip in tight alright, I'm completely confident with them, not sure if I'm "Twirling" confident thought! :hmmm: :nonono:  :-D

I just need some more JVC's I guess!

I wish other radios had this system built in.

BTW, weren't you making some that had clips that would work on the Realistic SCR-8? I'd be interested in one of those!

Yes Chris, I will be making "generic" carry straps for boxes like the SCR-8, the JVC 550, and Candle JTR-1287, when I get the time. I am 100% involved with my house remodel and I had to shut down all my "side jobs" to focus on the house. Our baby will be here in a month and after that and the house work is done then I will be offering those straps  .

Here's mine. It matches!

I can't thank Joe enough. Someday, when he re-visits the wider straps (probably from popular demand,) I hope to be in the inevitable line.

I can say honestly that these are the safest and most secure straps I've ever used. They beat the heck out of the camera straps we used way back in the day.

I just love my strap too  But I think the wider one looks better :hmmm: Maybe because the originals were wider :-O Anyway here is my M70 with strap, I just love to show it off :w00t:

I originally thought all JVC straps were 1-1/8" wide because that was the size of the original one that Spud let me borrow. After I had all of the hardware cut I found out that there were also 1-1/2" straps :dunce: . So, JVC in-fact did make two different widths. I would have made the bigger ones right away but I had no idea until it was too late :-/ ......

I do have some more 1-1/2" hardware, possibly another set of 838 green too, the rest are Zinc plated.

Fantastic pictures guys, keep them coming! :breakdance:

I actually purchased an original 1-1/2" JVC strap (shown below) and honestly it is a world of difference how cheap they are made compared to mine. I would never carry my M70 with that original strap. The clip ends are thinner and made of very bendy aluminum and there is no way I could hang on these without failure..... I only bought it because I liked the color and never saw it before  .

How cool is it to see all these pictures of the different straps!

Blu, congrat's on the baby on the way! Very exciting news indeed! Once your back into production, I'd like to talk about one for my SCR-8

Also, what are your thoughts on straps that wrap the handle? Something that can be used on "Any Radio".

Thanks Chris - I was throwing around some ideas for a handle mounted strap and havn't decided on what to do yet.... :hmmm:

I don't want it to be cheesy, I don't want the ends of the strap to slide around on the handle, and it needs to have a disconnect point......

My thoughts have been the same.....

Maybe we'll have some members chime in with their designs!
