Hello fellow BB lovers.

I wanted to get your opinion of the JVC RCM 50 and JVC RCM 70. We ALL know that the RCM-90 is the KING but very very pricey at $800.00 to $1600.00

I would like to get one of the best JVC boxes but NOT pay a arm and a leg for it.

The RCM-50 looks like a very well made box. The RCM-70 is even MORE impressive!

How does the RCM-70 compare ,audio wise with the RCM-90?

How does the RCM-50 sound overall? Good balance of bass and treble? Full warm rich sound?

Same question for the RCM-70.

Anyone have a RCM-50 OR RCM-70 in very good to EX condition for sale?

Welcome. :-D
In my experience for your money an M70 is the way to go.
The M70 is no match for the M90 audio wise. ;-)
It is a great all around performer and can get very LOUD! :stereo:
The M50 is nice too,but not the same caliber as the M70 (IMHO).
Hope you find what your looking for........ :surf:

I can only speak to the M70. She can get loud, but you have to go easy on the bass. Foam surrounds would have cured that. Overall, I agree that the M70 is a great box with very nice sound. I wish I could comment on the M90, but I've been out of the loop for so long that I missed all the great releases. The last box I owned was the JVC PC-5.

Okay the M-70 looks good and prob has a nice rich full sound with a nice mix of real base and treble. Yes the foam surround would have made the speakers more able to handle the strong base. Hope I can get one for a reasonable $$$$

I have both. Both sound very well although they are in different leagues the M70 is much louder than the M50.But the M50 is much better sounding at the higher levels which is about 3/4 of the loudness of the M70.As for looks the M5O looks more like a small brother to the M90 than the M70.Now they are both Awesome boxes for Salsa music which has lots of instruments...they do well enough with some bassy stuff at lower volume not at the higher level.IMHO the m50 handles bassy better.Size wise the m70 is about 1 inch taller, thicker and much heavier about 5 lbs or so.The M70 is a must have for collectors IMHO.

I have had all 3...the M90 is the baddest one piece on the planet. The M70 is my favorite mid-sized box. It has the best mix of power and sound of any midsized box. The M50 is about the same size as an M70 but is not in the same class. It has poor bass reproduction and decent sound but the M70 blows it away easily on power and sound. The M50 has a neat biphonic feature that allows echo control but I was very dissappointed in the sound of mine and now gf9696 own's it. The M70 would be my choice as you will not be dissappointed in it's performance although lately the price has been climbing on them. There is a reason M50's can usually be found under $100 and M70's go for $350 and above.

mellymelsr is right the M70 is much better sounding.I was not truly getting the best sound out of my M70 until today when I put mine back together after washing the Line in Line out board and cleaning all the solder points on it.My M70 has all new sound now it really sounds 100 times better and now clearly and easily blows the M50 away.

:-D ...that is why the M70 is my all-time favorite box. Glad yours is back to 100%...it is definitely a keeper.
