wow wow wow that is clean!

You know, even though it is a JVC - something about the design I don't like..... maybe the speaker grills  :hmmm:

Either way, nice one!

Yes, the M80 is different.... :hmmm: I commend JVC for trying something out of the box, so to speak. The tuner is like nothing else...

And as usual Blasterpunk has the best pictures...

I like the M80 for being unique but agree it's not really much to look at.
As usual Peter your box is sweet and the pics are top notch.

I actually like the way it looks -- it really grows on you. Unfortunately, good ones are virtually non-existent as this model doesn't wear well making this minty one extremely hard to find.

What's the synthesizer part all about?

It actually had tuner presets. :-)

These may not be the "looker" everyone wants, but it is a solid unit that sounds very nice.

It's like a quasi-analog/digital tuner. You can tune via either up/down buttons or by rotating a knob. Unlike a digital tuner with digital display, I would liken it to a digital tuner with an analog representation of a tuner dial. In other words, the frequency range is identified by a row of LED's where the LED nearest the station on the printed dial is lit. As you tune the scale, the lit LED moves up or down the string of LED's.

The cassette deck, I would liken to the M90 deck. So if you like the M90 deck, you'll like this one.

does this compare with the M70!!!

In what way?

Size/weight = about the same.
Features -- the M80 one seems to have more gimmicks including tuner presets
Deck -- I dunno: do you like an M70 deck better than an M90 deck? Up to you
Looks -- well, YOU be the judge. Some hate it -- some love it.
Power -- M70 is slightly more powerful
Sound -- M70 sounds better since it has more bass.
