JVC RC-838 : a star wars Boombox ?

I'm repairing a RC-838 and noticed a similarity between the protection of tweeters and spacecraft in the saga of George Lucas. A random ? It's because I'm on vacation that I'm thinking about such important things ... :cool:

Same era so I’d bet it was done on purpose

the 550 838 and 70 are almost the same deck :huh:

Nikonfoo the m70 has one of those silly upside down decks and the 838 the deck is the correct way around llol

With the keys on top they're less likely to break off. Makes the box easier to carry as well.
