JVC question

Hi. Ok definitely a newb here but I had a question. I found out what kind of boombox (one of them anyways) I used to have in HS and was wondering if there was a general opinion on it. It is a JVC Mod. RC-M80JW. I used to love this box. Anyone have any personal reviews or opinions on this. Is it worth tracking down. Is my nostalgia accurate from what I remember? Looking for objective viewpoints because I know mine probably are not.

thats a good one to have. i had one for a while pretty good sound as well looks funny because of the grills but thats the koolness factor. :sin:

Yes I always thought it sounded great. I also had a JVC PC-R550 in silver but I have not been able to find one of those either. I thought it sounded great too. I wish I still had that box. Anyone seen any of these around and what would a decent one go for? I think I remember hearing they came in black also. I could kick myself for not taking them before my mom got a hold of these.

with the sentiment so far, the 80 is a good if not somewhat boring looking box. If you have a chance to get one at a decent price it's worth a shot and the good news is the 80's usually sell at very reasonable prices on eBay however, they don't come up very often.

i love the jvc's with those waffle style grilles cos then you have to listen to the box instead of looking at it .

M80 is a nice radio no doubt. it has good sound and while it is not super loud it is really clean sounding.
the best part of this radio for me is the tuner i have better tuners on some of my radios but that being said the m80s tuner is extremely unique and quite good for a digital tuner.
the led indicator on the box is nice.
i was pretty happy to find one and i dont see it leaving anytime soon.
i actually dont find it boring. i find it extremely eighties hi tech styling to be really cool.
i wish it sounded as good as my m70 but it is not that kind of radio.
