Hello all, Just joined in hope of getting info regarding a boombox i have purchased recently,

Deck 1 played for a couple mins then stopped, I opened it up and can see compared to Deck 2 that there is now a small band missing so i think this perished as soon as i used it after purchasing on ebay.

This band is a shorter one of the two, So there is a Longer one that connects to a big metal wheel which Both Decks uses, But the one broken is the small one which sits on 2 small wheels behind and between the two wheels that come into the cassette to turn it, Also it is the one from checking working Deck 2 which turns all the little plastic cogs you can see in the centre of the deck..

On Deck 2 i can see there is a band on the same wheels as the Deck 1 which is missing one.

I feel confident that i could replace this myself but cannot find any info on internet for which length i would need.

I Hope i have explained myself well enough, The system is a JVC PC-W100

I have actually took a chance and ordered a set of mixed bands from ebay which vary between 40-130mm, but totally happy to rebuy if these sizes are not useable

Hi, thx for reply, but i am confused, the belts shown in picture are two of same size, but there is two sizes on my cassette decks a long one and the short one which has broken, so how do i know i will get the shorter one?

Or does 2 belts mean a long and a short for only one deck?

I don't know. The best resource for belt lengths is this document and the W100 isn't listed. Just wrap string around the belt path to find the length and subtract 5% for a little tension (like this). Service manuals, if you can find them, won't have belt lengths. They never do.
