Hello all! I'm new here, coming from the vinylengine forum. Pardon me if this isn't allowed, and mods please delete this thread if so.

I've come across my dad's boombox in the garage while downsizing, and am wondering what it is worth. It's the black version, and it hasn't been ever used. As far as my research has gone, it's got both of the side speakers, the power cord, manual, and all accessories. It's still in the plastic wrapping with the styrofoam corner pieces. Any ideas or resources would be appreciated!

Have you checked eBay listings that have ended?
Are you going to restore or looking to sell on here?
If you just looking to cash it in then maybe you should list it on eBay and it will find its level on bids.

Thanks for showing

Yeah I've done my best to scour around, and eBay has a wide range of $200-$1200. I'm looking to sell local to a boombox enthusiast, and I'm not very inclined to ship it out.

I've settled on $500, and see where it goes! Thanks for your time :)

Hasn't ever been used? I find that hard to believe, unless it's still sealed in its original plastic bag. I really doubt someone would pay today's equivalent of $1,400 for something and then just put it away and never use it.

I seen many times people with money buy something and use it for 5 minutes and completely lose interest in it and it sits around for ages unused.

I do this all the time, it's like i must have it then once acquired i loose interest lad

this looks a great deal if it's all working including the display, only seen 3 boxed units in 25 years

Using it once, yeah........but never? Not even opening it? You'd have to have dementia.

I can also say with confidence if I had a nice PC 550 I would pay $100 or $200 just for the packaging alone. Sometimes the original boxes and packing are as iconic and cool as the boomboxes themselves.
