Hello to everyone :-) ,
I ve been offered a JVC PC 55 in silver at a very good price but without a handle.
For those of you who dont know the model here it is from a picture i found on the forum.

Now i ve been meaning to ask if this model is worth getting it ? not about the amount
which is very low but in terms of sound and looks. So if anyone has it and likes
to express an opinion about it i would be so glad to read it. :-D

I would also like to ask for those who know or have them both
if it uses the same handle with a JVC PC 5?
and if anyone has a handle for sale?

The JVC PC 5 is this one.

I like my PC55. Heavy as hell, thumps pretty decent. Need to rebelt the deck so not sure what that's like. LCD Screen is hard to see, and seems to be common problem.
Never seen a PC5 but just measured my 55 and it's 30cm across the deck/amp unit, if that helps. I definitely know a PC11 handle was to small

sorry deech, the handle off the pc5 does not fit the pc55, just tried it, as for the 55 it's a cracking box...just loooks a mess if the display is broken though

Reno thanks for trying it. :-)
Does the brackets fit though?
i mean just the brackets not the whole handle.
Which it may be longer? or shorter?

I don't think the brackets will fit my friend as the pc5 is a 5 peice and the 55 is a 4 peice, sorry about that dude

one handle is actually longer than the other

Reno thanks for your very informative answer my good friend but i wont be getting it anyway because its a mess.
Well not completely a mess but the LCD it is , which puts me off.
I could live without a handle but not with a messy LCD.
Hence the low price the seller asked for it. One less trouble !! :-)
Liked it better than the PC5 though.
Some time ago i ve been offered a Sansui CP-7 which had a broken LCD ,
didnt get it for the same reason.

The pc55 is a awesome box if it's staying at home.
Trust me a handle a f****** useless cuz you're never going to take it no place anyway. Your best bet is just to make a new side plates and a new handle.

A bit late, I was looking for a solution to the missing handle on the PC55, great post on the climbing rope and rivets. Being the original owner, I am missing the handle, the ex tossed it at some point... I wrapped a rope, but it is a pain during transport as the speaker can be unhooked if put on an uneven surface.

As for the unit, the cassette deck is fubar, there is a loud rubbing, one of the motor seems to be desintegrating.

And as said the display for the counter is starting to miss a a bar for one of the digits
