JVC M70 speaker rings removal

I have removed the screws on the speaker rings on my m70 and even after attempting to pry them off they are still as solid as a rock. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do next?

Some people have had the rings to come off easily, while others needed extra work to get the rings off. Apparently, some M70s have an extra bit of adhesive that can become pliable after soaking the front case in warm / hot water.

Or you could gently warm the old glue up with a hair dryer.
