I have an JVC RV-NB50 Ipod Blaster that also accepts
my Iphone 4.

So a friend of mine bought exactly the same model brand new
after trying out her Iphone in my Blaster
and has found that it will not accept her Iphone 4 or her Itouch ??

Needless to say she is very disappointed :'-(

Anyone have this same problem or similar please or did she
just get a dud ???

I found this on the Internet. It will work for the NB50 and the NB52.

1) Download the firmware update for the RB-NB50 / RB-NB52 and save it to your PC Desktop.

http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/01/36/67.ZIP

2) Insert a USB Flash Drive into your PC and format in FAT16 or FAT32.
3) Unzip and open the Downloaded file. Copy and Paste the file “host.h16” to USB Drive folder.
4) Turn off the RV-NB50 and insert the USB Flash Drive in the USB port on the front of the RV-NB50.
5) While the unit is OFF, press [9], [1], [4] on the remote control.
6) RV-NB unit will turn on automatically, and “HELLO” and “MCU UPGR” will appear on the clock display.
7) While updating the software, the clock display will be blank. Please wait about 2 minutes and DO NOT TURN OFF (or pull out USB Flash Drive) during updating.
8) The clock display will appear when the update is complete.
9) Gently remove the USB Flash Drive
10) Done

Unusual that mine was fine right from the box and that hers
needed an upgrade :hmmm:

I had the reverse happen.
Put my iPhone4 into my i931x and my iPhone died!
Fixed by connecting to iTunes but no way I'm risking a second go!
Luckily I have a iPod touch so all cool sorta..

This must be the first occurance on here or s2g of fixing a boombox issue by upgrading firmware. Things have moved on from "change the belts", eh? :-)

Yes things have certainly moved along

One day upgrading your firmware will be old school too..... and then what

I dunno, my brain has all the hallmarks of something badly in need of a great many firmware fixes.
However, I'm not sure the hardware would cope... :-)

I just got one of these new JVC's up in Chicago for $100 and I only kind of like it, it's lower wattage and weak hi freq's are one thing, but no way to view files on my flash drive is annoying, I am glad I only spent $100 on it now. It's ok, but still not enough. Love the firmware upgrades jokes :)
