JVC-838 Light Question

Does anyone knows if the awesome 838 turns on VU lights as it comes original from factory? by pressing the batt check button any help apreciated in advance anyway to know if it has leds near the vumeters... Thank You

I don't have one anymore but as far as I remember the battery check / tuner dial light only lights up the tuner scale. I don't remember seeing any lights in the vu meters when I had it apart.

Dies anyone knows how to clean the dial on this without tearing hole thing apart?

You have to take the entire chassis out to access the tuner window . also putting it back together is kinda a pain lining up the switches with the holes in the case.

If there's just fuzz and dust in the tuner window you could try compressed air to blow it out, just be careful of the tuning needle.
