JVC 550

I posted a wanted ad on my work intranet a few weeks ago when my GE crapped out on me. Today I get a message from a guy who has a JVC PC-55c(silver) that looks really good but the tape deck does not work. Radio works and everything is complete minus the owners manual. Is it likely worth $200 .. that's his (must have) price?
