I just wanted to let you all know-My computer is very slow-dial-up connection for a few weeks until I get a new provider!
So-If I don't reply to as many posts it not that I don't want to-it's just that it takes a while for the big photos to load so I just can't reply to all that much!
So don't be offended if I'm not replying to everything-I'm reading all posts but it's hard right now.
I still run my website & it takes the patience of a saint to upload HQ photos-especially with photobucket!
So be patient with me & thanks-GB. :-/ :-O :hmmm: :'-(

That's only because of the images. Dial up used to be acceptable in speed. Once broadband came around, then images, video and sound files became commonplace. People will always find a way to use up the available bandwidth. If cheap fiber optics become commonplace, I imagine and would expect even more widespread use of telephony high def video, etc.

Goodluck Ghettoboom!

You might want to try the Opera web browser (http://www.opera.com) if you're on dial up for a while as it has an exception feature called Opera Turbo. This downsamples images you browse and also caches pages on Opera's own servers for speedier page loading. It can make a slow connection much, much more useable. Lots of friends here with capped internet plans that slow to dial-up speeds after their allowed bandwidth has been met use it and have nothing but praise too.

Worth a try if you're stuck with slow speeds for a while anyway.'

Rock On.

Hi Glue-I'll check that out!
It's really not bad at loading pages-It's just the boombox on the top of the page takes a minute or 2 to load on this site & replies take a minute or a minute and a half to get to do the reply.
The only thing that really takes some time is loading all of the boombox photos on here.
Still not to bad-it's about 28Kbps.It's reasonable but it also make you realize how good I had it with broadband!!
I will have it gain & in about a month.
BTW-I can see everything here on my Blackberry-all HQ photos & everything-it;s just not the best for replying-typing is somewhat slower & I have to enlarge but it's all good on that! :-)
Have a great weekend-GB. :-)
