Congrats.....!!!!

The 9696 is one of the best looking boxes out there, IMHO!

Does the deck play and everything work?

:-D :-D :-D

They're a great box,I have the 9494. I will warn you to keep them in a dust free environment as what with all the sliders and such they attract dust to the nooks and crannies like crazy. If you need to touch a few paint chips(hopefully you don't)then Tamiya's X-11 is supposedly a direct match. Good luck with it!

dang! someone just pointed out that the front sliders are missing - and the front door!!!
are these bits available - straight away I can see the door is different to my 9494

double dang!

Nice box you have there.

I also noticed that there seems to be something different about the cassette door and it does appear to be missing slider tips.

The more established members of the Worldwide Getto Massive have Eagle Eyes!

Study lots of boombox pictures, and study them hard.....It will help you to avoid things like this in future.

Some parts for certain boxes are very difficult to find.....Just ask a Conion owner how rare-to-find the whole cassette door is!

Hopefully though, you may be able to find some slider tips and cassette door cover for this 9696.

..............Yet another box saved by The Worldwide Getto Massive! Fantastic!

Poor box.

Please help out this box. Make it happy again.

if you asked nicely, bredgeo could probably replicate some sliders for you.
and the cassette door is actually there. it's the plexiglass that's gone.
looks like a missed opportunity for a good restoration to me.

Yeah. Looks like it'll need some work but not all that bad. That's also why it's 100 pounds. If it was perfect, it could be 300 pounds, maybe more.

when i get a second chance offer on ebay I always think the seller was or had someone shill bidding against me. I dont buy second chance offer items unless its a very good deal. It just makes me think the seller was trying to make the price go higher and who knows maybe i could of bought it for a lot less.

also look at this topic. this guy can name new sliders.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, the dude who made those knobs has disappeared off the face of the internet many moons ago.

I'm sure if someone followed those steps they could make some fantastic repros, but the question is, who?

Good luck getting the 9696 Claret, at the very least a lot of the missing sliders were used on multiple Sharp models.

Rock On.
