Tara and I went to the local beach today to meet up with some friends for some fun in the sun.
We brought the Clairtone with us Because I figure why the heck not!!?? no one else brings boxes to the beach anymore right????
WRONG. I was amazed to see and hear music coming from multiple directions and lots of young
folks enjoying tunes and beers.
There was volley ball, music, skim boarding and more people than I have seen at the beach in a long time.
Heck there was even an incident on the beach involving the police because some old hag couldn't stand some loud music that was going on
by the shore line.
No, It wasn't me but it was fun to watch because the police took up for the young kids playing the music, it was great.
I am proud to say I did a bit of blasting my self and the Clairtone did so very well out there today.
It sounded so good and people were giving me props most of the time we were there.
It was great fun and also fun talking with all kinds of people about the radio.
I walked off the beach loud and proud today while cradling the box in my arms and the feeling was great.
It was "Just Like Old Times"

awesome at least the old hag got what she deserved  ,i hate old hags there always causing trouble :nonono: .

i wish i had some place to use my boxes but where i live it's not a good idea to walk around carrying anything of value lest ye get beat over the head for it or shot ,a word to the wise never move to maryland it's beautiful here but the people are rude and careless ,and self absorbed.

terrific story , frank -- :-D
over here --i am the only local stud with traditional old boxes on the beach --

the others use makitas, bosch and the tool brands --
gotta admit --they dont sound too bad -
and the rechargeable custom batteries they use -- last all day :-O :surf:

Cool! Love stories about radios on the beach. Of course, radios on the beach and "old times" mean something slightly different to me...

Great day Frank, love to hear these stories and to know the boombox isn't really dead outside of our little world.

Someone please buy Ira some underwear, apparently he's spent every penny on boomboxes.

Hi Frank-That is really cool!! Great to hear about others boomin' to!!
I used to love bringing my JVC PC-55JW to the beach and the pool at Daytona Beach back in the 80's & 90's!
There were all sorts of people wondering what the?? Powerful & so advanced for it's day!
Yes that is so cool to have those special beach days-I remember so many good times on the beach during Spring Break and what-not.
