Just joined the forum yesterday looking for info to restore a Aiwa CA-70. Started reading through the Walman Posts and brought back memories of my Sony WM10. I think I still have it somewhere. It was a cool little walkman. Supposed to be the same size as a cassette case when it was closed.

I remember the battery cover was broken and the headphones were replaced with same model phones, but could only find some whacky aqua color. If I can find it I'll post some pics later this week. It probablyu needs restored too! LOL!

Thanks for the offer. Can't remember the condition of mine. I took good care of stuff, but I also used it!! Unfortunately so did some of me friends :sadno:

FIgured I would share a few pics of my old WM-10. It still works, but plays sporadically. Ordered some belts for it. Hope to get it running like new again.

It is in good shape, not excellent. Head phones got damaged along the way. Bought replacements way back when but could only find this awesome aqua color! :-D

Things didn't go too well in getting my WM-10 back to tip top working condition :sadno: . One of the screws that holds the outside case on was way too tight. after about 3 different screwdrivers I stripped the head of the screw. Weird thing, I have owned the walkman since new. Once I removed the cassette door, there were only 2 screws holding the case on. The 2 screws behind the cassette door were not there. I know a friend of mine used it a couple times way back when. Needless to say I am a little perturbed!! :annoyed: Not sure if I should try to drill it out or just call it quits?!?!

I use a very small Philips head , if you use a number 2 or even 1 Philips head it will strip screw. Drilling out may mess it up even more :hmmm:

Yeah I used a pretty small driver. Not sure what number. Worked fine on the first 3 screws, but that last one was super tight. Maybe someone overtightened it to compensate for the 2 lower screws that were missing. Not much left of it now!
