Just Got a Sony CFD-440 & A GE 7-2880A MonoType"BlockBuster"

Hi everyone-This Wednesday I went into Goodwill & there was some booomboxes!
I got a sony CFD-440 for 3.99!! It works all except the CD.
It cleaned up really nice!!
It just doesn't want to keep spinning and read so I'm thinking oit's the reader or the motor possible but it worth it for the cassette & radio.
This thing is loud and sounds really,really good!!
It's a 1992' boombox.
I have the CFD-550 and I thinks this may be just as loud maybe!!
Now this GE thing is really cool! It has a 53/4" or 6" speaker!!
It also has seperate bass & treble & AFC.
Just a an Am-FM mono boombox but it's really really loud and sounds really really good with the bass on full a low volumes.

I got the GE for .99 because the cord was cut!! I had just enough room to get another cord from a similar appliance from goodwill for alike .24-.49 halk off!
Black cord-just cut the end off and did a repair job onthe inside-buitin in AC cord.Takes 6 D's to!
Can't wait to show you! The GE has a big High Performancew AM antenna to!\
2 boomboxes for less then 5.00!!

hey jeff -- i also have that elegant looking little 440

this prolly wont become a 4 page thread !!!
and it should take about 80 more years -till is earns its collector grail status

but --in the meantime --what a nice box

Hi Ira-Thanks! I like the 440-it's not an egg by any means and it's almost 80's!!-92'.
I had this thing in about 20 pieces! probably the easist boombox to work on ever!! A 5 year old could do a repair on these!
Just can't figure the CD player yet but I like it!

It hard to pass up good "Junk" like this!!
I will show you photos tomorrow-Ira the 440 is near mint!! Just needing an antenna 90% there just missing the tip-Radio shack red tip may be the trick!
