After having a RX DT670 for a few years and loving it, I found a 680 on ebay and was told it was like factory new so I pulled the trigger. Just came in a few years ago and it sounds amazing. Popped a CD in and just incredible sounding boombox, very happy with it. Tried the cassette decks and at first they would only click and not play, tinkered with it a bit and ran a head cleaner through one so now deck 2 plays but deck one still just clicks. Maybe there is a remedy for this, someone may know.

Thanks. I used some alcohol on cotton swab and closed the door more tightly and it started working that night and has continued to ever since. This system is really nice. Wish they still made stereos like this today but quality went out the window long ago in favor of convenience.

Congratulations on the acquisition!!! It’s so exciting getting new boxes and working out the kinks. There is a great feeling taking something old and bringing new life to it.
