It may not be any consolation but it happens to all of us.When such things occur,I realize that we need to be happy about what is right with things and not what is wrong.Given the fact that this really is "the first day of the rest of your life" as they say,imagine how you would feel if you just found the box today somewhere locally.I'm sure you would be quite happy with it and would be really excited to give it a listen.Also you would marvel at the fact that the broken pieces were still with the box.A little glue and it would be complete though pieced together.It would be a very good day for you instead of a source of frustration.
If you let it get you down,it defeats the purpose of our hobby.It is about our experiences,sharing them with others,and how it makes us feel.The boomers are a MEANS to that ENDS.Figure that no matter what grail you absolutely have to find,there's always somebody who is selling it and wants the money more than the item.There are people that get joy out of other things in life and don't understand us at all.This is proof that it doesn't matter by what means we achieve a happy state of being.When we die of old age,the only things we can take with us is our experiences and family/friendships. I assure you at that point the boxes will stay behind!
BTW-If you're really upset about what has happened you could always send the box to me.It looks like a pretty cool model and I'm always into new experiences

That's a drag Ghettoman but as you've all basically said, **** happens and you move on. Still a drag though! :'-(

the box did`nt work anymore,the damage was quite alot from it just falling the small distance,it had that big piece smashed off the top,a screw stem was smashed,antenna snapped off,power supply board had a big crack through it,thats why it did`nt power up anymore...
The plastics,i got some araldite,2 tubes that you mix,supposed to set rock hard,only glued it earlier,gunna leave it til tomorrow,you can still see the crack a mile off..basically,its a wreck now...
But like i said,and like you said,Fack it,iz the way it goes....never mind....i`ve had it 5 years...and only paid £80 for it..not too bad..

Nah i did have 2 crowns,i also had a smashed in unisef what i paid £20 for off ebay,and a lasonic 931,but i scrapped the unisef,it was too far gone,even cosmettically..i sold one of the crowns,sold the lasonic,and kept this 1 crown..now i have "half a crown"
