Just bought a Sharp GF990G

Just had a moment of madness on a well known auction site and picked myself up a Sharp GF990G.
from the pictures it looks in really good clean condition. Hopefully it will arrive safely and look as good in the flesh.

It was the keyboard and twin cassette that did it for me. I know it’s more of a gimmick but I think
It looks really cool. Anyone already got one?

yea it's cool si, i guess it depends on how much this was, mine were free so i passed them on

It was £160. Not the cheapest but not too bad bearing mind some of the other costs I’ve seen them go for. I might regret it, but it’s a bit of fun.

I've just refurbed one for my mate, quirky little thing. Average sound from the cassettes although the tuner is fantastic, crystal clear and loud. Enjoy playing with the keyboard

Yeah, one of the belts for each cassette deck had turned to goo and left a mess all over the boards and wheels. One of the plastic door hinge retaining pieces had crumbled away so the door was lopsided when open. A few crackly switches and one of the cassette speeds was way too fast so was adjusted. Cosmetically in fantastic condition and wouldn't mind one for myself at some point.

Well mine arrived safely today. Took a bit of a chance with delivery but was too far to travel.
Overall really pleased on first impressions. Radio works, keyboard works. Cassettes don’t but not surprised, also left channel very quiet.
Even had the original Sharp batteries in the keyboard.

Looks in great nick and normal servicing should sort those issues

Do Not try to use the cassette if it's not working as it has fusible resistors on this model and they blow instantly on this one if the belts are gone, glad you are pleased and she arrived safely

One of the best-looking 3-piece boxes I've ever seen and it's big sumbitch too. these big sharps are like Cadillacs you just have to love them.
