This is my favorite beat juggling joint, I love that hard dj premier style beat and the tricked out vibraphone

I swear I think Premier got that beat from an old Tom & Jerry episode I haven't seen since the 80's. :-/
Probably did.
Them old "Tex Avery" cartoons were crazy. I think Tex Avery use to have the original "spike Jones" do some of those sound tracks. That man was on Acid i'm pretty sure. A cartoon with no words at all just a cat and a mouse beating each others ars from beginning to end & the tripped out music from classical to weird bachelor pad space music. It was fun to watch.
BTW Premier sampled all kinds of crazy joints, I always thought mark the 45 king was the master but i'm pretty sure Premier and J Dilla are a little deeper into the crates

Yeah, those Tom & Jerry episodes from the 60's were WEIRD AS HELL
crazy.gif
, with the dude who was Tom's owner, strange music, jerky movements and whatnot...

DICKY MOE!!!

Honestly haven't heard much of J Dilla, but Premier's got The 45 King beat, but then again, DJ Mark wasn't all that relevant in the 90's.

Definitely one of the hardest beats in the 90's. I really dig Jeru, ( sun rises, the wrath,) but without the preemo beats........ :-/
He needs the beats, together the music is just so right on.

Yeah. Check out J Dilla's Donuts. He made a lot of those beats from his hospital bed before he passed. That man was a genious in the beat department, i'm sure Premier would agree.
They were similar beat producers except j dilla being a Detroit guy had a lot of obscure funk 45's and motown loops spliced in. They were sort of like samples that were too long but he would sample a rhythm out of it and when the beat stopped the rest of the sample would play out. It was just so raw and unedited.

Mark the 45 King still deserves credit by sort of transending old hip hop to new at one point in the mid 80's. He was a big producer but recognized at a time when hip hop wasn't as global as it was in the 90s

i love jeru from the start, specially the sun rises in the east, the album cover with the burning towers and a number called the prophet, isnt that prophetic?
also "aint the devil happy" on "the sun rises in the east" give me goosebumps everytime i listen to it :grim:
after the wrath of the math it was not the same anymore but u have to give "the sun rises again" a try
for me its the best album after the wrath
