Ok. It is officially the weekend here in the US. It's 5PM EST and I've pulled out my vintage blasters, the alcohol is on tap and the grill is going. Cook what you brought type of thing...lol Anyone else? It's cold outside here with nothing else to do. Got the X-Box fired up and blasters going....What better to do than party and blast the dust off your boxes speakers.

Mine are used to it...they know whats coming this evening and if they act the fool...they'll be taken apart and repaired with spare parts within minutes.....so far they're behaving and taking the punishment well :-)

Who's with me? Certainly we have a few members that like to get rowdy during the weekend

This is my house this evening with vintage boxes

Heck yeah. We have the Moderator and Boomboxery Staff on our side. :-) Rock on!!!!  I'll crank up my Lasonic 931 just for you

It gets better. I've broke out the Drone (cheap one). People can wear the video goggles with my cell phone inside synced with the camera on the drone. I fly around the neighborhood like a mad man and watch the person wearing the goggles bob and weave as I navigate houses and trees. Every now and then someone falls over...hahaha. Great fun and a hoot!!!

Snapped this picture while at 500ft above the vineyards from my house.

Ended up landing on iHeart radio listening to Z100 out of NY streaming across all boxes. Happy to say that so far all of the vintage boxes are still going strong. People are starting to wind down though...except that one dude using my leaf blower in the back yard in the middle of winter...lol. 2 more hours to go :-0

Awesome. I don't have any whiskey at the moment but I do have Rum. That always seems to smooth out the evening and I sleep well afterwards |-) Usually waking up to the clack of the cassette deck stopping  especially my Panasonic / Quasar. When the tape stops on that thing it sounds like a train car coupling. It'll wake the dead!!!

Tonight I'm listening to stereo in stereo. Gearing up for another weekend.

I hope this thread picks up this summer with back yard BBQs showing your blasters going outside entertaining while we enjoy the warm evening weekends.

I got Goldie out to replace the Tape Run indicator belt so I plopped Sylvia by it's side and we're having a little demo for Friday evening. Got to prime the pump and shake things down before you give them a workout :-)

Anyway, stereo in stereo tonight :-)

Just finished up with the two Conions. The hard work is over. Now it's time for them to do what they were built for. Fresh batteries and a long weekend begins. Out comes the booze, on comes the power and up goes the volume!!! Enjoy your weekend guys. We're taking this show outside when the weather starts getting warmer. More pictures to follow throughout the year on this post.

Ok. Here is the setup for this evening. The DJ-Tech is heading up the show with it's line out being fed into both Conions. Left Channel is Gold one, Right channel is Silver one. Conions stereo selector flipped to mono so they become their own channel per box.

Now I can control volume with my phone via Bluetooth and stream or play my music and control it from anywhere in the house.

I love it when a plan comes together!!! Just another good thing about the DJ-Tech...Love this BOX!!!!!

Indeed - thought it was about time to get back to this guy. Turning my bathroom into a paint booth tonight :w00t:

Thanks brother, I appreciate that!
Progress is a negative, unfortunately. I'm pretty good with some things but painting is not one of them. I ended up with problems on all four M90 grills and both C-100F grills. I'll have to strip it all off and find help I guess. I ended up not doing primer first because the paint said it had some in it, but the paint never smoothed over the pitting from the rust that used to be there, and by then the perforation holes started bridging over. But yeah, no more bathroom booths. I nearly choked after a few seconds  The fan just wasn't powerful enough, even though I was in a small area near the fan that was sealed off with drop plastic.

I must have got lucky when I repainted the grills on a M9998K. After sanding most of the old paint off, I sprayed on some metal primer/undercoat, sanded it lightly and used a flat black spray based enamel paint. Multiple light coats with a light sand before the last two coats - it turned out great.

Incidently, I’ve found that spraying over a smooth surface often results in a ‘flat’ paint coming out ‘low sheen’.

This weekend this is the outside scenario which seems to have brought my neighbors over. No....not to fuss but to inquire.

Good times :-)

I know I keep kicking up the dust on this old post. I really was hoping that it might get filled with pictures of folks enjoying their boxes around the world on their days off.... Including me.

Unfortunately, this weekend (for me) is filled with rain. It's been raining all stinking week :annoyed: Stuck inside
