"Come on, we gotta!?!" That's what Henri said to Ramo when they spotted an all white subway train from the roof of a building in the movie "Beat Street"...

I've been wanting another i931 since I gave it away to my nephew many months ago... The goal was to eventually get either a white i931 or a glossy black i931, but a few weeks ago, I spotted a i931 in an internet search that probably wasn't for sale yet - an all white version. Days later, Lasonic had it on their website... I knew I HAD to have that and today, it arrived. :-D

It's called the i931WW (white on white). It looks pretty good with my new silver iPod Classic. :cool: After I cut the woofer baffles like I did with my previous i931, it'll sound as good as it looks. :-D

That is a very, VERY nice variation on the i931. I find it a much better idea than any of the other variations outside of the gloss black. It actually looks like some effort has gone into this one. Really clean.

Thanks, Fatdog. :cool: You've gotta wonder if the TPTB at Lasonic have been reading the comments on Boomboxery and s2go... Perhaps they needed something smooth looking in their i931 product line to counteract the ridiculousness/ugliness of the "Rap-up" version. :-D

Thanks, Glue. :cool: It's the cleanest version so far. Still, I'm hoping that they come out with a more tasteful black version someday (not that that would stop me from buying another regular black or glossy black i931), and possibly, a silver.

Thanks, hemiguy. :cool: I wish it was 'cause it would sure make it MUCH more easier to control the iPod than the supplied remote control - which is a joke, but you know the cheapos at Lasonic aren't gonna pour any money into making a touch sensitive control. :-D The display serves absolutely no purpose and I'd complain, but it's no different from what Lasonic did in the past with the TRC-931 and such.

After thinking about it for a little bit,... maybe the best thing they could've done is left the iPod click-wheel exposed. :hmmm:

you know a lot of people dis this boombox.
hats off to lasonic tho for trying to bring something out that was extremely affordable that provides decent sound.
sure its not a lot of things but it really is the last portable stereo of this iconic style we are most likely going to see for some time.
i mean yep its no m70 however for the price it cant be.
they gave us the best that could be expected from this company in this era.
i think that this unit must have sold well.
there seems to be quite a few variations on the theme of this box.
i like this white boombox.
for the money i think it would be hard to beat as a inexpensive ipod dock.

Thanks, Bill. :cool: People diss the i931 'cause out of the box, it doesn't sound good and lacks the bass of a TRC-931. However, if they took the time to hook up the sound on both the i931 and the iPod, they'd make it sound good.

Still, to make it sound great, they'd have to open it up for some modifications. Lasonic made a bad move when they added the woofer baffles to the 931 design. It totally chokes the "boom" that would be available without 'em. Remove those baffles tho... It won't boom like a TRC-931, but it'll be better than before.

I have to be honest,i`ve tried not to like the i931 because no graphic,no tapes exc..,but that box looks soo kool..i like it alot !!!! and its the best colour yet ! you have made a nice choice buying that...
