It's Been A Blue Blue Day............!

Hello People!!

Well, a lovely summer day here..........What can I do to pass the time??

After looking at & listening to my Fisher PH-460 the last few days, I kept wondering how it would look with blue woofers & tweeters

There is already a blue 'Theme' to the whole thing as well as a small blue highlight around the woofers...........

Today saw delivery of my chosen blue shade (Really picked by Big Tits as women are better at all that colour matching malarkey) & I decided to make a start straight away

The speakers on these are really well made & I didn't expect to find so many screws to remove along with the quality wadding inside the boxes!! It took ages to get both apart & the drivers out before I could start painting them!!

It's taken most of the day to get a nice finish & cover all the faded black woofer cones & even the tweeters took an age to completely cover the black cones

After what seemed like hours later, it was time to reassemble both speakers after a deep clean of the grilles & interior of the boxes..............

What can I say - I love the end result, they look awesome & match in with the blue on the main unit so well

I am very happy with the results......

Fantastic result! Initially I though the end result may be 'too blue' but, once assembled, it looks rather spectacular.

I LOVE the way the blue woofers look. Kind of looks like the paint went on a little thick though....did you notice a difference in sound?

Bass is definitely tighter now, I did 3 coats of thick enamel paint which has now dried to a semi matt finish & has stiffened up the paper cones!! Will post a hi def video later with stereo sound!!

The blue woofs makes the other blue accents really stand out. Can't go wrong with blue and silver/gray boxes, nice mod.

Here is how it sounds now!

The bass is much tighter now & I had to keep the volume & bass backed off in the video as it would overload the phone camera!

I don't know how many of you have heard one of these all restored & pumping, let me tell you, they can really pump with both bass & volume - It has been blasting much louder than this today & is fast becoming one of my best finds & stereo's yet!!

I just love using it & playing a big range of different music types to put it through it's paces

If you find one in great condition then do not faff around - Buy it!! You won't regret it!!

Once again, Headphones or a good speaker system is mandatory Love that word

When I painted the woofers on one of my GF8989's with a white acrylic paint....also a little thick....I too thought the bass sounded a little tighter. I should have painted them blue!!!
