I saw this at a $170.00 "Buy it Now" and just HAD to have it.After puling the trigger,I noticed it's missing the battery door in the lengthy item description.Sheez, where am I very well going to find a Telefunken donor box?Not in my lifetime :'-(

Crazier things have happened. ;-)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. In all honesty, the 1M isn't a carry box.

No battery cover + Telefunken studio 1 = No Problem
1. you will never carry it around , too heavy
2. They dont sound as good on conventional batteries.

Nice score.
Belts are pretty easy on this one be aware of the hidden screw under the cassette key , I forget which one
but you will not get it apart without removing it. :nonono:

Nice on Jovie and I agree with the others, the battery cover probably isn't a big deal.
It took a lot of will power for me not to pull the trigger on this one, it looked like a very good deal.

Thanks for the kind words guys  It seems every "Buy it Now" I have sprung for has been a mistake.Hopefully this box will not be and impress me enough to lay off for awhile.

I have a smaller Telefunken 3 piece I absolutely adore! It has really sharp highs with the control set to neutral.I'd describe them as "glassy" .It makes guitar have a sharp edge which is how I like'em.I like a dynamic sounding box even if that means less accuracy. Can you guys compare the sound to any other boomer?I hope its not high fidelity "polite" if you know what I mean.I like punchy bass and highs just this side of shrill. The highs especially are really important.Anyone?

I am proud to type the name "jovie" for a $170 telefunker is well worth every one of your 1,700 pennies. A battery door is small change, penny's mere penny's in the longer fullness of time of the JovieFunken......

Jovie,
If you're Funken is in proper shape electronically
you may find yourself neglecting the rest of your collection for a while.
It has a wonderful sound field with surprisingly punchy bass for the size of the woofers.
The tweeters are very clear and crisp and produce some great high end.
This unit is built like a brick $hithouse and quality is that of a vintage hi fi home stereo.
I love mine to Bits.

Damn! Only $170 for this box? :w00t:

With a box like this, I wouldn't worry too much about a battery cover. I don't own one of these, but from what I have read in this thread about these, it seems like that these boxes are in VZ territory in regards to weight.

I am pretty sure that, if I had seen this box, had the cash and the seller was shipping to the UK, I would have bought it too!

When this box arrives into your collection, let us all know how the box sounds, looks, and whether everything is functional.

Enjoy!
