It came apart in my hands !!!

Was at the carboot and not finding much and was walking the lines and i looked over to this old man unloading a trailer and he puts up the big looking box - walked over, well nearly ran but didn't want the other dealers seeing me finding it (i'm trying to keep it under my coat, as what i'm collecting - as the other dealers picked up that the bmx's that i was getting can be worth money and so are stopping me from getting them - and i don't want to let this happen with boxes)
well it turns out to be a JVC PC-R11 - picked it up an it weights a ton :eek:(11.4kg WB)
Asked the guy if it all works and he said yes ;-) "so what price are you looking for it ?" i ask - "£5" he say's
Well that sounded good enough for me - so i put it straight in the back of the car and under cover ;-)

well i'm just about to photo it and i notice the bracket on the side after the speakers are off - a this point i know the handle comes off - so i undo the screws which hold on the speakers and to my surprise it comes apart to be a two piece that you can put side to side for a hi-fi look or put all back together to be a ghetto blaster :cool:
The back has a cover to tuck all the wires away - all looks clean and works :cool: great sound out of it

i got one of these,bought it about 10 years ago from a car boot,but i paid £15 for mine..these are kwality man..

When I read the title, I immediately thought of a cherished boombox crumbling to pieces as the result of bad packaging. :'-(

Thank goodness I was way wrong. :-)

The PC-11 is always a nice score - especially for £5! :thumbsup:

:agree: I almost didn't want to look but thankfully all is well. :yes:

Cool story but what do you mean they are keeping you from getting the boxes? Do they hate you? :lol:

Great find for 5 quid! (About 11 bucks U.S.) Only thing that's dissapointing about these is they lack punch you'd think it would have. :-)

If the other dealers find out ghetto blasters are worth money - they will buy them and not for being collectors, but to put them on to ebay for more money - at the moment they are passing them by and not bothering to pick them up - this is why i got to keep quiet and hide them in the back of the car :lol:

this happened to me with bmx's - now if there's a bmx there they will buy it up just to put on ebay - no matter that they don't know what make, model, value it is :annoyed:

now just need to find my 777 at the carboot and i will be very happy :boba:

That makes sense BC, I've noticed a bit of the same thing at my local flea market but thankfully these regular sellers don't know what they are looking for just like you said about the BMX bikes. At one point there were a lot of trashed boomers and radios at the flea, I think once they found they weren't making any money on them they backed off. There have only been a couple of us looking for boxes at the flea so fortunately I don't think the message to buy everything hit them to hard. :thumbsup:
