Is this really worth $300?

The seller states its NOS with box and manual, but $300 for a teeny weeny unit like this? I bought mine for let's say ALOT cheaper then $300. Considering the one I found has a broke aentena and a non working walkman. I love this unit, but $300?? Even if I bought and tried to make a bit of a profit via Ebay (assuming I can get more the 3 bills for it), is it really worth that risk/value of the box?

I would say $300 would be about max for that color NOS in the box with manual. I would pay that if it was really NOS... not "Used with the box included" (as most "NOS" items are.... it is total B.S. most of the time) If it was blue/silver add $100. Red add another $100.

After fees I doubt you could turn a profit....

Cute little units with suprising sound and i think the deck comes out for walkman use. some went for 100 some 400 depends.

Not that I'm looking to cash in (as I already own this unit), but the seller doesnt even seem to be budging on the set price. I could use the extra money to get things I really need. Some DJ gear and what not. Also, I didnt really believe that its NOS either. You never know, but I seriously doubt it too.

Not to mention that I would have to do a decent drive to get it. So doesnt seem to be worth it for me. I'm sure this box will be on Ebay in a week regardless. Will be interesting to see what it actually goes for.

even if it was new chances are the belts would be perished. these were made in 1983.

My pea brain tells me $300 is a bit high this box, I've seen these in the box go for much less (in the $150 to $200 range).

True... but the original box adds about $100 of value to this. And even though it looks really good in black, black brings the least amount of $$ when it is up for sale. I think the seller can get $300 for this.... but he might have to wait awhile as I have plenty of these myself...

Under a real auction or a BIN.....? a low BIN can be under value...

Not a BIN, they went the distance and the bids didn't go very high. The last one was during the summer some time. I almost went for it but decided to let it go. The final prices surprised me because I figured they would push $300 but they didn't.
