I've got an Intersound J747 that powers up, all the LED's bounce to the beat, the power LED lights, FM tuning light shows it's finding a station, decks turn, plugged into the line in, just no sound.

No sound from the speakers or the head phone jack, no crackling or static, just nothing. I have tested the external speaker jacks, nothing, checked the pc board where the wires come from the amp TO the speakers / external speakers / headphones....nothing.

Any thoughts?

Anyone got a spare main board?

Did you double check all the plugs inside and make sure they were secured? If you are getting the VU`s bouncing to the beat then the preamp section should be fine , but the headphone jack should work also since it is a preamp level out.

Try also cleaning the record slider bar these can wreak havoc if they are dirty.

Chris when we spoke, and I forgot with my J1, but does the volume control the beat of LEDs or is it same throughout volume scale?

I'm wondering if volume slider went bad. I think I told you that maybe as well. That would explain why neither headphones or speakers don't work. :hmmm:

Interesting....So how would I go about testing that?


Chris you might want to PM Norm as I know you test using ohms tester on meter but not sure on sliders.
