installing a guitar strap pin?

Some Boomboxes have a guitar strap pin on either side to support a guitar strap.
Has anyone ever thought of installing guitar strap pins to a box?
I know there would be an issue of weight distribution.
It would be helpful to hear some feedback on this idea.

Great idea! Right now I'm starting my first repair/mod project and if you don't mind I could try to include this on my list of todos on this box. And later I may post some results if it goes well. I guess some broad metal washer could be used for the weight distribution from inside...
