so do some of your boomboxes sound better outside than inside and vice versa.
i mean rick inspired me to ask this question.
i think it makes sense.
i mean a kaboom i think sounds best inside but thats just me. i think its design like a car bazooka bass tube using the walls of the room as great big passive radiatiors of low frequencies is part of why they have so much bass.
they still sound really great outside but...
i find for outside alot of the boomboxes with the sound enhancers like biphonic or ambience or the techno surround of the dt707 sound really really good.
i suppose it makes sense that some boxes do sound better outside than inside.
sound is all personal preference anyways.
i mean its all our own idea of what sounds good and what does not.

the m70 is a great box for outside --

it NEEDs to be played loud - -before the bass kicks in -
but after that happens --

its a big , clean outdoor boomer :-)

yep i agree with that one for sure ira. i think the m70 is one of the coolest sounding boomboxes and well its for sure very very colored sounding but in a very excellent way.

I'm a firm believer a lot of those one piece Sharp's that seem to lack dynamic sound indoors, and quite a few other brands, come to glorious life when outside. It's not like they magically get more bass or something, but that the overall sound projects in a whole different manner.

yeah... i have used my Hitachi TRK-8190E outside and it sounds very good!!

but it also depends on the days,

because sometimes due to heat / temperature or humidity, also object disposition in the street,

makes sound travel differently....

but it sounds good, both inside and outside, outside its more fun of course!!! =)

there are no noticeable differences in frequency absortion or stuff like that...

just the normal ones that happen with any sound system.

havent tested the Sanwa 701B outside though, but i believe it will sound nice.

it has a rougher sound.

ok ok!!!

The Rising 20/20 sounds great both inside and outside. The Aiwa CS-880 is pretty much an inside box.

Another good outside box in the JVC PC-55.

I like my Aiwa CS-660 for outside, partly because it's not quite as nice as some of my other boxes so it's usually the first one I grab when heading out. The 660 has the size, looks and sound of a great boomer. :-D

Another one I take outside that sounds awesome is my baby Kaboom, the 55 model not the big Kaboom. This box (tube) has outstanding sound but it's not much to look at or brag about.
