So a little while ago I got my D8443 from ebay for $59 
And what a great machine it is - sounds faboulous especially on fm radio. When I bought it
the seller noted that the right speaker didn't work. Seemed to me like a contact problem. I pushed a little on the volume knob and gave it some contact spray
and it came to life at once. Only three things not working so far are balance knob ( totally dead) - wont record (no biggie as I have my JVC KD-X1 deck for that) and rewind (nothing happens when I push it). Other than that I've been a happy camper until yesterday. It now wont play as loud as it used to and the balance knob now seems like it wants to play
So when I now ever so gently put some pressure on either the volume, balance or stereo/spacial knobs it plays full and loud, but when I take my finger/pressure away it wont play as loud. Hard for me to describe but kind of like the difference you'd get in loudness with a lodness button. It still sounds pretty good, it's just not all there if that makes sence. From what I gather there are problems with contact again - the weather around here has changed lately could this be a factor? So far I've given it more contact spray but it dosent make too much of a difference. I really dig this machine and I dont want to let it go without a fight
