Is there a way to increase the output from the speakers on boomboxes. I just picked up another VZ2000 and this doesn't sound as loud as the first one i got. Having said that, i reckon the second one sounds better, the first sounds as the volume is to high at the same setting, (a bit like a cheap stereo and crappy speakers that are playing at max)......especially if you go to around to 6 on the dial. The guy i got the first one off did have it stripped and he said he soldered up a couple of dry joints, and Ive noticed that the left speaker is slight louder than the right. I can remember years ago taking a cassette player apart, there was a several small screw like posts that you could turn, but i didn't know what it adjusted......is there something like that on a boombox circuit board???

It could be that some of the capacitors on the first VZ are dried up or at least partially. Generally, replacing old capacitors will breathe new life into electronics.
