Hi all,

I'm new to this site. I started collecting boxes a few years ago. and now have a collection of 4 1980s boxes and a nice modern one.
Three of the classics are in good order.
But the latest one is in pretty sad shape. It's a Lasonic TRC-920 and the tape does not work and the left speakers do not work. There was a roach trap in the battery compartment when I got it. I am planning on opening it up this week to see if I can't get it working.

And a few of us have had some six and eight legged "carpetbaggers" if you will, ride in with our finds or purchases.

So don't worry, you're not alone.

Here's some quick and dirty shots.

Here's the Lasonic I just got. I've cleaned it once already and it's still a complete mess:

Here's the Lasonic with my two Pannys:

Here's my girlie Sharp:

Not quite with the theme of this site but here'e my JCV MP3 CD Box.

I got this in the spring and wish I had ordered more. Anyone else had any luck with these or know of a better one?

Is that the Sharp G-8? Where all the controls are under a flip-top lid? Those are very nice and on my "eventually" list.

Fatdog thanks. That Sharp is the reason I got into this collecting hobby. It's a great little box and in good shape other then the pretty screw on the front is missing.

Master Z - I'll look up the models on the Panasonics when I get home tonight. I found them both within just a few days of each other. The small one works perfect while the large one has a tuner problem. The box tunes in fine but the display needle gets stuck.

I thought at first the 2 Gig limit was bad, but I usually use a few 256MB and 512MB cards. My other mp3 players also use SD cards so I prefer juggling them around. 2 Gigs is just to big without a shuffle feature.

The FF controls on some BBXs don't work the mp3 cassette well. The Sharp I have is the worst offender.

I have problems with servodecks useing it , they stop automatic after some seconds :-/ .

The mechanic ones work (not all :-/ ) work best with this.
