Hello to everyone, this is my first post yadayadayada

Yesterday (easter sunday) me and a couple of mates set out bargain hunting, we woke up at the early time of 6am and went to the local boot sale, it was cold and miserable.

Anyway, a few hours in I saw it from afar, I go over, have a look around and ask the seller how much. I was rather surprised when he said £4, I handed over a fiver and in return had a pound in change and I was the proud owner of a Sharp GF-9595.

I got it home and started playing with it, I was amazed to find everything seemed to work okay and it sounded great.

However, I know absolutely nothing about boomboxes and google didn't seem to know much about this one and I would like to know if anyone would be able to shed some light on it.

Thanks..

Welcome and congrats Doozle, the 9595 is a good box and that price was outstanding.
What do you want to know about the 9595?

Anything you can tell me; year, history etc. I can't seem to be able to find any documentation on the internet for it either.

I don't plan on selling it but what sort of price do these normally go for in fairly good nick?

So pretty much any info there is would be greatly appreciated.

I have a lot of documentation at home for the US and European versions of this model, I can get you a scan of a spec/brochure page I think went to the dealers. I'll see about scanning it tonight after I get home.

Prices are a crap shoot, the range for the 9595 can be $50 to $500 depending on condition and whether it comes with extras like the original box and or paper work. Typically in good working condition without showing much wear you could expect in the $200+ range but that's really a rough guess. To many factors go into to prices for any collectable and boomboxes are no exception, your best bet is to watch sales on eBay and over time you'll get a rough idea of the range your 9595 fits into.

Welcome to this forum , Doozle. It's cool to see that you found your way up here.
I don't know what color your GF 9595 is but what was mentioned above pricewise is true.
If you own the silver version , you may get some more for it. The silver version is not that common.
Maybe you can post a picture of your awesome 4 £ find

Welcome to the site!
The first thing you must know is that the worth of a Radio is not in the price.
Quite often the price of a classic Boombox will go up and then back down again in the same month, simply because sellers may read our posts on this here site.
And the second thing you should know if you plan on sticking around, {hope ya do} is to post pictures of your boombox as much as possible.
Doesn't even matter if we have the box, we just like to look at pictures of pretty radios.

Cheers OSS :afro:

Thank you for all your replies.

As it happens I'm round a friend's house and we hooked it up to my turntable; listening to old records. When I get home I'll get some snaps and upload them.
