so im thinking about... not thinking, i AM going to shell out the $300+ for a gf-777, i feel like i NEED one now, its not just because its a very sought after box, its also the coolest looking box ive seen so far  , and ive read a little on the performance and watched some videos of it, but its hard to tell how well it performs on a youtube video

when i buy this thing, am i going to blown away by the sound quality and bass?

to be honest, ive never owned a boombox with tweeters, or high grade woofers, so i still havent gotten to enjoy the awesomeness of a high quality boombox, so im mainly looking for a second opinion :hmmm:

thanks

In my opinion, the only thing that is hurting the GF-777 is the treble performance. :-/ If you hook up an iPod and boost the high frequency, you should be good though. They are heavy; they weigh close to 28 pounds fully loaded. You can probably find a really good unit for $300 including shipping if you have patience.

I wasn't blown away by the sound when i got mine.
A great box for listening to rock or musical instrument music.
Not much for electronic music or bass heavy tracks.
I miss mine since I sold it years back.
It definitely has a big coolness factor to it.

Personally speaking. I LOVE MINE. What has been posted so far is true, you will find your settings will be "Treble all the way up, Bass halfway, loudness on". (at least mine is see that way :-P )

Yep, weighs a TON on batteries! (or empty!)
Yep, really good looking box!
Yep, very high construction quality!

This is still a number one pic to take places when I need HIGH VOLUME OUTPUT! I took mine to Ozzfest:

I think you will be VERY happy with your purchase....make sure the decks are working...these are complicated boxes inside.

alright cool, well in 2-3 weeks i will have enough money saved up from my checks to shell out the dough for a good one, hopefully one will pop up on ebay in great shape for less than 500 bucks, ill be lucky. Im a "buy it now" kind of guy, i hate bidding, it just aggravates me :catfight:

my opinion is very subjective, because i think the gf777 just looks awesome and the sound is also quite good.
when there is a good offer i will buy one!

but of course the 777 is a great thing for everyone who likes boomboxes. DO IT^^
