its very cool.
i would sure love to have one if that was mine there would be no way i would sell it.
as for a dollar value we dont really know those answers.
its worth what someone is willing to pay and what you are willing to take for it.

Yep, kingrat is right.
I'm thinking about bidding on one right now, that's why I wanted to check if you guys knew anything about it.
Judging from the pictures on ebay it does take batteries.
I'll keep you up to date on this...

P.S.: Thanks for the welcoming ;-)

Thanks again for the welcome ;-)

Didn't go for it 'cause the price went above 40€ and I have my eye on several other boomboxes for which I wanted to save the money.

Looking more at the pic, it seems to be a box... The handle give it away (should have looked better tyhe first time!) :-P

Welcome Zippy!

No worries, there are plenty of boxes for sale all the time and many that are probably more to your liking than that cool little Grundig.

Hi Zippy and welcome!

The Grundig RR3000 is actually quite nice (and elegant) for a box a bit smaller than a Panasonic 5100 (if that reference means anything). The sound is outstanding, with separate bass and treble controls, and the unit is feature-packed (heavy, too), with six pre-sets for FM, dial light, tuning/battery meter, ambient sound ("Super Stereo"), solenoid-control cassette deck, and muilti-voltage. As you can see from the photos, it uses six D-size batteries, and there's a small storage compartment for (I'm guessing) an earplug.

I've had mine for a long time, so I have no idea anymore what I paid for it (probably too much), but €40 seems a bit low to me for a Grundig of this quality. I'm not surprised that €40 wasn't enough to win it. But if that's your money limit, don't worry. I'm sure you'll find a oodles of boxes in that range on eBay.

Ahhh... nice in silver!

I think the other small compartment would be for the storage of the power lead.
