Here is my S-4800, which is the version with FM presets (the extra buttons shown on the lower right). It weighs 7.5 kg. Made in Japan. Sounds very good.

Here is mine (actually is Norm's but waiting for better times for sending :-P ) It sounds really good and it is build like a tank. One of the most not ordinary boomers. The bars on front are ticker than a grillgard of nowday SUV :lol: . All is build with quality in mind. Fm presets its a cool function too. Love the radio dial and so on and on. Actually a lot of guest which have no idea of boomers when seen my collection always saying that this one is way too cool :-P .

(Not that I don't like leds, got some nice ones myself, just really, really like VU meters... :blush:)

Do the meters and the tuner dial have lamps? Can't tell from these photos...

Have to try and dig my Sencor 4500 out. Haven't listened to it years... :hmmm:

Left from the tape knobs the two buttons - first is "loudness" second is "light" :yes: .

The light button only lights up the clock, for bedroom use.....and it's a very weak light. :thumbsdown:

The tuner scroll at the lower right is permanently lit......but the bulb often burns out.

Like Alex, I too would love to know more about this kick arse box.

Anyone got some pix of one side by side with another radio for size comparisons?
It looks BIG, but be nice to see how big.

Also, a photo with the handle up would be nice, if that's possible without propping it.

Very nice! LOVE everything about this box aside from it's short akai-like handle.

The rest is pure ambrosia though.

I'm the proud owner of a very good condition... (drum roll please!!!) :blink:
SENCOR S-4850 brought to Mérida, Venezuela all the way from Mexico by my friend Odette!!! She's from Puebla, but the box was actually in Mexico City (D.F. - Distrito Federal)
Now all it needs is some Deoxit in some places, but in general VERY GOOD condition!!!
