I spent up big on ebay buying a few tapes.

[ebay]180838439397[/ebay]

There's about 250 cassettes, about 40 of them are pre-recorded (all different genres) and the rest are nearly all Type 2. TDK being prominent with SA and SA-X, and about 20 Maxell UD XL and XL-S with a half doz Maxell UD's and a couple of Denons. Most appear to be very cleanly recorded on a good deck, I've tried them on my Pioneer and my JVC so far, they sound great and I think the source is CD, but that will be confirmed when I listen to them all.

A couple of strays in this lot a TDK MA90 and a Sony Type III FeCr (I'm not sure I can play the type III on any deck I have).

anyway here are the pics. I hopes ya likes em.

Awesome score! And if the original owner had a good deck and knew what he was doing.... those probably sound a lot better than pre-recorded tapes.

Do you have a good component deck so you can mix your own tapes?

Enjoy!

I have a sneaky feeling I won't be recording over many of these jaetee, I had a the lone Type 4 (Hendrix) one pumping last night and it sounds sublime.

I have a few decks, a couple of Pioneer 2 head decks, A JVC 2 head, and a 3 head Nakamichi 482 which is in the process of getting a full service (recapping, transport re-lubricated, belts etc). I can't wait to get these tapes on the Nak.

I like the very tasty look of those 80s TDK SAs. Very good, faithful workhorse chrome. One of my favorites :-)

Have fun :-D :-D
