I have placed the Lasonic TRC-931 back on active duty on the kitchen counter and man do I miss that Big fat sound!!!! :stereo:
Its been a while since I used it last and I am just re- realizing why its one of my favorite boxes :hooray: .
Simply stated its just an all around great sounding box and its looks are killer hot!!!!
I would love to get my hands on a NIB 931 one day because honestly it would make my day.

I still need to get me one of these....down the line....but for now, I'll have to struggle with my 975, 935 and 951  :-D

BTW, as I am looking at this stunning 931 my wife says..."I want one of those coffee makers...oh and I like his spice rack!"....She didn't even notice the radio!

Nice Lasonic Frank....she looks great!

Frank did you finally find get the deck key you needed?

No, unfortunately I Did not!
I obtained two from a member here that are similar but they dont fit right.
If you look at the two outermost keys you will see that they stick out
a bit. Those are just place holders until I can find the right ones

Chris Wait till you get the 931!!! You probably wont want to use the other Lasonics as much. :w00t:
Funny your wife noticed the coffee maker, I picked it out because the paint matches my Pioneer Perfectly

I don't know, one day I'm going to do a write up and video on my Lasonic TRC931 and 975. I still like the sound of my 975 more :hmmm:

My 975 and 931 were not used that much and well preserved. But I will make a video and hopefully will clear up any disbelief ;-)

Hah hah hah
Either that or we all had some fubar 975's

Well Frank if I remember your 975 was pretty beat up and needed much work. You did an awesome job cleaning her up but it was probably used excessively by a painter :-)

That box looks awsome and very clean. I wouldnt have expected anything less from hemi's collection.

If i am reading these replies right, is the general concensus that the 931 has the better sound of the big Lasonics?
I always assumed the 935/975 were the absolute top of Lasonics range as they look much bigger and always seem to cost more.
Do the 931, 935, and 975 all have differant speakers?

Bill I respect your opinion about the 975.
But mine was more dirty than it was beat up. My 931 was pretty dirty as well but I wouldn't consider that beat up by any means either. In fact both boxes were fully functional when I got them
The most notable thing about the 975 vs the 931 is bass response.
The 975 only really gets decent bass when you have the LBS feature on. Unfortunately once you get on the volume knob
You end up either having to shut it off which defeats most of the low end bass or back the bass slider all the way down.
Which both produce undesirable results IMO.
On the 931 I could keep my loudness switch on and bass slider most of the way up with no problems or bottoming out.
And that (for my ears) produces a much richer sound than the 975.
Now both of my Lasonics may not have been pristine but I have heard from many other 975 owners complain about the same thing. Don't get me wrong i loved my 975 as well but if I still had both and could only keep one, it would be the 931.
Now, not to say the LBS feature circuitry on at least a half a dozen members 975's could be compromised from years of use/abuse I can't confirm that.
I look forward to your video review and your opinion/ thoughts on the LBS feature.

Thanks brother,
I am almost positive the speakers are the same.
But the internal circuitry is really what matters most.
