i have this little sony cfs 3000 with a problem

here's the deal.
radio plays fine out of headphones and through speakers, everything is cool there.

tape plays only one channel through both headphones and speakers.

i have cleaned the place where you plug in the little wires in the back, they are like little clips, however the radio seems to work fine.
i have endeavored to clean the headphone jack. it is a mini plug.

hi did you try the record bar as sometimes that also can cause channel loss if the bar gets dirty enough.... and if that does not cure it than its something a bit more deeper needing some more time to diagnose

is there a way of hosing it down with cleaner without opening the unit up? fader cleaner or tuner cleaner?

You can also try to deoxit the function switch...Better to do this while bbx is apart and you have easy access to switch...spray a little and work switch back and forth through all functions For the most part taking switch apart to clean is always best but that can be a little challenging good luck

i just held the little tab sensor down in the well, and worked the record button on and off about fifty times.
and the bastard started working!!!!!!

Glad you got it working but the issue is likely going to continue coming back until you open her up and clean the record/playback switch with electronics solvent.
