So - I open my XMAS present to myself a little earlier than i should. :-D

And surveyed the box contently - let's see if this sucker can jam and hang with my ANALOGUE ANTIQUE AUDIO AMBASSADORS :yes:


Well - all was well until I removed it from it's protective polyurethane coat.

Just below the IPOD door there is a massive HOLE :thumbsdown: :no: :sadno:

BRAND NEW FROM THE USA FROM AN EBAYER - and I have waited over a month to open it - so I know what his response will be.
This is pretty poor Quality COntrol - as you can see where the sticker/panel once was - and the box was sealed when I got it!

Does anyone have a contact with LASONIC - do I can at least enjoy this box COMPLETE and not feel like I have just spunked 180 UK pounds down the drain.

Bit gutted on a new bit of kit something like this would be missing.

Wow, that sucks! :sadno:

I remember getting mine and I had a too weak DC supply and it would not play my ipod without an annoying click every few seconds. :-/
Got it fixed with a huge DC supply though and I am happy with it.

But really, quality wise this is not what should make oldschool boomboxes tasty for today's youth again :sadno: I actually prefer my Unisef to it...wonder what the 975 will sound like in comparison :lol:

I am sure Lasonic will help you out, at least they are in contact with their customers and still listen to boomboxers like us. :yes:

Well now everyone is blaming the seller, but if this was a new unopened item its not the seller but Lasonic who screwed up... I have talked with lasonics tech department before and they are always willing to fix a problem. That is where you should begin :-D

Some friends bought one for me when they where on holidays in the US when the
i931 was first available.
When i first fired it up i turned the volume knob up, and the volume went up :yes:
turned the volume knob down............... and the volume went up :sadno: luckily the remote
worked correctly or mine would have been full noise all the time !

then i find that it wont charge my new ipod ???

Yeah - I don't think it is the sellers fault on this one - I don't THINK I pointed my boney digit his way.

He has replies to my email straight away - and is contacting his disty.

Also - was the techsupport email wrong? Why was it deleted?

Little late on this thread - most should know me as the anti-i931 guy by now. :annoyed:

That hole should be covered by a plastic cosmetic piece. When I ordered mine new, it had fallen off and was rattling in the box. Also, yes the volume control is unpredictable - you might have it set to, say, 18, walk away and come back and it's down to 12. :annoyed: never again...

I was actually wanting one of these since they came out - now I think I'm glad I didn't get one, and I may never do so after reading this whole post.

Too bad. It looked really cool!

Bill, honestly I own 2 new Lasonic I931's (black,white) and love them both...I am also in the process of getting the I931x for iphone :thumbsup: If you own an Ipod/ Iphone it is a way better investment than an Ipod docking station ;-) :-D

I'll have to try and find it at a local electronics store, so I can make a quick return of need be - thanks for the encouragement!
I do have an iPod touch so it would be quite useful!

Either I have the worst timing
or
Lasonic have a busy TECH SUPPORT dept!

I have tried a couple of times - and they always say all engineers are busy, and then flip me off - rather than get the option to hold!

They have contected me via their FACEBOOK page - but that is the one time!

Does anyone here have like a contact there I could speak to - just to clear this simple mishap?


It seems daft that a new box gets shipped incomplete

I think that is a good indicator of their quality control. :-/ I hope you get this remedied. :yes:
