Wanted to put in my review. I have bought 2 new ones. They work well . They are very loud. They do what there supposed to do. They have a remote. Charge i pods. Run Am, Fm , sd memory , usb, ipod, and mic.

Cons

They sound like plastic

They kill batterys real fast even at low volume.

Hard To control I pod with remote.

The rss feed is silly.

The stickers on it are fake and cheap.

I took 1 and modified it

Opened it up . Took automotive Dynamat and lined the inside of the speaker enclosures.

That took all the plastic sound away. Now its solid and Rocks!

I Installed a Exide Power safe . Sealed Lead Acid Battery inside.
A EP 1229w
13.6 volts Puts out 1.4 amps

Runs the radio for 6 hrs or more at full volume and can be recharged

Screw D Batterys If we want a modern ghetto blaster make it recharge and last for the day.

Next comes the cosmetics but I need to get the pics for you guys from the project so far. Tomorow Or later tonight :-P

The trc 931 probably sound the same, I just upgraded the i 931 :-D

Wow ! It's certainly good to have you join the forum.The i931 is one I'm really interested in.Though I don't have one,I will eventually if someone comes up with some upgrades or mods that eliminate it's shortcomings.I'd really like to see every step of your process. I agree with you about the graphics. It's beyond me why Lasonic hasn't come up with a variety of adhesive graphics sold separately to give the box a different look. Looking forward to your future posts :-)

With the battery setup you installed, I assume you do not have to crack open the case every time to charge? I had one but returned it because it didn't work with batteries.
