Humming in stereo ?

Hey guys im new here :rock:Trying to figure out what would cause one speaker to barely work and humm in stereo but work fine in mono ? That is also only occuring when i play a tape, listening to the radio everything works fine in stereo .:huh:

It maybe the caps for the op amp (cassette input is low level). Try pressing rec / stop 30 times to rule out the record bar.

Thanks for your reply, i just tried and seems like the humm got away but one speaker is still barely working in stereo while working perfectly in mono.

would be handy to know what stereo your talking about. then we might be able to throw more light on the subject

have you tried switch cleaner spray in the function buttons. spray some in and flick them up & down a few times..they do loose contact & tarnishcandle-jtr1286.jpg over time

With tape problems it is always recommended to look at the record bar. Press the rec button a few to 30 times with a blank cassette inside.

Definitely give hitting record 30 times a shot. Just tried this for the same issue on my TRC-931 and problem solved. Love this forum.

All it did was what Hopey recommended, clean the oxide off the switches/selector. Open it up and give the components a proper cleaning.
