thanks so much for the warm welcome everyone.
It's good to know I'm not the only crazy one who is into old boom boxes.
I spent a lot of time as a teenager in front of my boom box taping off the radio (I'm 40 years old, I grew up before downloading from the net) and doing pause button mixes for the times I brought my box out to entertain the public.
I had a few memorable boxes growing up, my Emerson detachable speaker for a birthday gift went through a lot, and the MacDonald was good for that boom and picking up stations far away. After my Emerson finally died, I got a black Magnavox with shortwave, I busted the play button so I had to use a jeweler's screwdriver to make it play. I remember killing Run DMC's Raising Hell with that box. In 1986-1987 I had this cheap dual tape red box that was made to do overdubbing (record a beat on one tape play it back and overdub recording on the other tape) I don't think it had a radio. I haven't seen that on the internet I would love to find a pic of it.
Howdy back to all my neighbors!
