Thanks guys. The seller's dad passed away recently and left him a huge stash of goodies, palletfuls of stuff including many McIntosh stuff. I can't afford any of his primo stuff but we're going off topic here. The point is he did sound very much like he wanted to make absolutely certain that no damage occurs to this because his dad loved this piece and he wanted it to go to someone who would love it. He called me from across the country and we chewed the fat for about 1/2 hour. Terrific guy and I hope everything is as I expect when I receive it. So, he promised to line a double wall box with styrofoam sheets, the king you buy from home depot. Ok, we'll see what happens. I'll PM oldskool and see if he'll answer. He doesn't seem to be around lately.
but I've never seen a 300 in person so I can't be sure. The seller should realease the handle and give it a shot just tell him not to pry with any tools.

). I expected the Panasonic to sell for $100+ more than it did and was surprised when it only sold for about $2 more than the box I won. 
If I didn't blow doe on other stuff, that might've been another box on its way to Philly this week.
