Does anyone have the Panny RX-C300. I have one coming and the seller does not know how to disassemble it for shipping. Can someone help? I'd like to make sure it does not get damaged in shipping.

It looks like this one:

it sure does look like the buttons or slides --
that are on both sides of the handle --
are the release levers --

but --to make sure -
send a PM to oldskool :-)

:agree: but I've never seen a 300 in person so I can't be sure. The seller should realease the handle and give it a shot just tell him not to pry with any tools. :nonono:

Thanks guys. The seller's dad passed away recently and left him a huge stash of goodies, palletfuls of stuff including many McIntosh stuff. I can't afford any of his primo stuff but we're going off topic here. The point is he did sound very much like he wanted to make absolutely certain that no damage occurs to this because his dad loved this piece and he wanted it to go to someone who would love it. He called me from across the country and we chewed the fat for about 1/2 hour. Terrific guy and I hope everything is as I expect when I receive it. So, he promised to line a double wall box with styrofoam sheets, the king you buy from home depot. Ok, we'll see what happens. I'll PM oldskool and see if he'll answer. He doesn't seem to be around lately.

Ahh, so it was you who won that box... Congratulations! :-)

I had my eye on it just in case things didn't pan out with another auction that ended about 3 hours earlier (almost NOTHING would've stopped me from winning that tho ;-) ). I expected the Panasonic to sell for $100+ more than it did and was surprised when it only sold for about $2 more than the box I won. :-D If I didn't blow doe on other stuff, that might've been another box on its way to Philly this week. :-P

Thanks Oldskool for the personal insight.

Mono -- so you won the Rising 20/20? I'm glad you won that one and didn't contribute to jacking up the price on this one. I watched the rising but only out of curiosity -- never intended to bid. With all the times I've come in second, it was about time that some semblence of equalization (luck) manifiested in the galaxy.

Of course I've yet to receive this but I'm very excited. I've spoken with the seller by phone and I couldn't be happier to buy from this gentleman and I he offered that he couldn't be happier to be shipping it to me. He inherited this due to his father's passing and he said his dad would want this to go to someone who would treasure it. Just the knowledge and history alone would make this an instant keeper for me. How many boxes are in your collections where you knew the history? If there was an option on every boombox purchase to have history, I would gladly pay a substantial premium on many of the boxes I buy.

That's not my style... I only bid in the last few seconds. ;-)

You'll enjoy it for sure. It's quite a powerhouse given the amp has twin ic's. Plus, you can't help but dig the vacuum flourescent display.
