How to connect a LED VU meter in a aftermarket AMP??

Well, since I found my Unisef in a dumpster, I knew I had problems with how to make the original VU meters working on a Chinese AMP.

Some pics below (the LED board and Chinese AMP.

Anyone knows how I make thisOriginals VU LED baxcks again??

As I thought, this looks like it has no separate VU's for left and right. So the three leads are for battery +, ground, and audio signal (speaker + OR line level before the amplifier). When connecting to line level, AFAIK, lower resistance is needed for the pictured potentiometer. When connecting to speaker, the meter works as "output power meter", not as VU.
