Try to the trick used on the Panasonic DT-680. It might actually work on the AZ.

It all depends on whether you want you want to get your hands dirty or not! If those two RCA inputs in the back are CD outs, then you could try Fatdog's suggested trick.
If you want proper RCA inputs, you could open her up and do a line in hack. You will need a copy of the schematic to makes things a little easier for yourself. I did a recent mod of a Panasonic RX-DT680 utilising the tape deck inputs into the main amp board.

If you can find the Left and Right channel inputs from the tape plus the correct earth, you could have a simple solution. You can then install either a 3.5mm plug input or RCA inputs (if space permits) into the rear casing.
If you do decide to do a proper mod, post up some photos of your progress and we can try and help you out as you go. It's well worth the trouble if you get it right.
