Hard question I know.

I chose the M90 because I think we can all agree that, even if it isn't the best boombox, It is certainly one of the best. I know there are much rarer radios etc, but how many do you think are still out there?

There was once a time when i thought m90's were quite rare like when Litfan me and a handful of others had them, now everybody has one if not multiples of the same box, i would like to know how MANY as a combined comunity have them so we can tally up how many there are.

Back to your question i should think there are still many out there i mean take the 777 there are hundreds out there and that wasn't a cheap radio either.

hey ben - for -every member who lives 'elsewhere'- :-) :-)
i know these are rare --

but over here -- on usa/canada ebay -
there are 10 to 20 per year !!

plus -- members here have found them at fleas, at barber shops,
pizza parlors,factories, etc, etc
i have found them at estate sales ( dead rich folks have LIKE NEW m90s) ;-)

wanna guess ??
ok - i say 1,000 at least.

I got mine from a friend. Yeah , I would say 1000 is a good start. I might be thinking 10'000 ?

Wonder how many they actually made ?

They don't crop up on ebay.co.uk to often.

i belive there are a lot of them especialy people that still use the radio portion but are not involved or even know about collecting ,, as you can see they have been coming out recently and most were starting to find out since some did not know and went for cheap

There used to be time a few months ago - when we had 2-3 M90s at the same time on US ebay. But not lately though - I think we've had only a couple in the last few months.... And in general - as far as I can see - nobody is selling any grails anymore....

I think another big question is circulation.
How many get listed on ebay and passed around a few times and resold/bought.
And how many go into permanent collections or to people who will never move them along.

A radio could be bought and sold 10 times in different listings; but it's still only one unit.

Of course this is virtually impossible to track without sellers listing serial numbers and someone with nothing
better to do collecting and archiving them in some kind of database.. but you know, someone might love the task.

Rock On.

way more than people would think.
theres most likely a lot of them inside peoples closets garages attics ect.
i mean i dont think that m90s were sold to the youth market much.
i also think they were sold to a lot of the people from the generation of never throw anything aways.
i would think that there is a lot of them tucked aways by people who dont even own a computer or have any interest in the internets lol

Seems there are more still in existence than we used to think but as others have said many owners aren't selling, likely because they have no idea about the collector market for these. In fact the "GRAIL" market seems to be pretty tight in the US, not to many top boxes popping up on ebay the last 6 months or so.
